| Founded by
Louise Charest in 1985, École de langues
de lEstrie has been providing language training
for the past 16 years. A brief history of the school will demonstrate
the wide range of experience École de langues de lEstrie
has with providing language-training services in French and
in English. |
| |
| Louise Charest, the companys president,
graduated from the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, in English
and French Comparative literature. Having grown up in a bilingual family,
she was able to better understand the unique characteristics of both of
these cultures.
|
| |
| At first, the school catered exclusively to the
private sector. Within 2 years, over 50 companies such as SEARS, IBM Canada,
Culinar and General Motors were using Ms. Charests services to train
their employees to be proficient in both official languages. In 1987 the
school was approach by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) to train
employees with the goal of obtaining government levels of linguistic competency.
At that time we began to administer training to 800 students in 80 different
locations throughout the province of Quebec and Ontario.
|
| |
| Administration of this work took place at the
newly opened offices in Montreal. In addition to the work with HRDC and
the private sector, École de langues de lEstrie increased its
public sector clientele to encompass 15 government departments, as well
as foreign languages other than French and English. Now, as one of Canadas
leaders in private language training, École de langues de lEstrie
has continually been awarded language-training contracts from numerous federal
government departments and private sector companies.
|
| |
| We offer part-time and full-time language training
according to the needs and learning styles of the students. Approximately
600 students from a variety of departments have been using our services
for French and English language training in Ottawa, Sherbrook and Montreal.
|
| |
| We come highly recommended by the Canadian Government. |
