École de langues de l'Estrie is pleased to present our International Academic Year.  This popular, non-credit program is designed to facilitate students’ entry into university or the job market.

Language Focus

For either sixteen or thirty-two consecutive weeks, students focus on honing their command of English in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with special emphasis on pronunciation and intonation.  Students of all abilities make excellent progress in this long-term program.  They also have the opportunity to prepare for various international examinations such as TOEFL and TOEIC.

Academic Preparation

In addition to the language component, students select from a range of academic subjects which will help them to prepare for their future studies and careers.  These courses include:

A Well-Balanced Program

This well-balanced program consists of 25 hours a week of instruction.  It combines both language and academic instruction ensuring that students are reaching their full potential. L'Estrie's extra curricular options round out the program.

At the end of the 4 or 8-month program, students will graduate with the ability to communicate in English with ease and confidence.

Accelerated Pace

With l'Estrie’s modern and effective teaching methodology, students make remarkable progress in the shortest time possible.  This accelerated program is based on our experience in teaching Government of Canada personnel.  The key to l'Estrie’s success has been our ability to provide performance-based training that ensures positive results as quickly as possible.

Individual Attention

In our small classes, each learner receives the individual attention that he or she needs.  By knowing each student's strengths and weaknesses, teachers are able to regularly monitor the student's progress.  Those requiring additional assistance benefit from our tutoring program, while gifted students are placed into our enriched learning programs.  In this manner, each and every student reaches his or her full potential.

Social, Cultural, and Sports Program

An active social, cultural and sports program is important for the all-round growth and development of the student.  L'Estrie organizes a variety of weekly and monthly activities for the students’ cultural and physical development, as well as for their enjoyment.
